Suspect accused of at least two bank robberies in custody

SOUTHEAST TEXAS - Law enforcement officers have caught a man accused of robbing at last two banks during the past week in Southeast Texas.

The suspect was taken into custody in Galveston.

At about 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, Beaumont Police, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and Galveston Police, arrested David Randall Terrell, 32, of Nederland, for the robberies of two banks in the area.  Officers located Terrell in Galveston.

On January 18, officers obtained federal arrest warrants for Terrell for the January 15 robbery of Mid-South bank, 1384 North Main in Vidor, and the January 18 robbery of the BBVA Compass Bank, 2635 I-10 East in Beaumont. A federal grand jury  indicted Terrell on the charges. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine on each charge.

Investigators are trying to determine if he was involved in the January 19 robbery of Woodforest National Bank inside Kroger on Dowlen in Beaumont.

Several law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation of the bank robberies, including the Beaumont Police Department, the Vidor Police Department, the Galveston Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service.
