Toxicology results on Bill Leger show .26 blood alcohol level

BEAUMONT - We have new information to report about the death of our colleague, Bill Leger.

Bill was a reporter and anchorman at KFDM for about two decades. He died in an automobile accident December 22 near Lafayette, Louisiana.

Louisiana State Police say Bill lost control of his Jeep on a curve. He overcorrected and the Jeep landed on its side. Bill died at the scene.

State Police have completed the toxicology report on Bill. It shows his blood alcohol level was .26. That's more than three times the legal limit. A blood alcohol level of .08 is considered legally intoxicated.

Louisiana State Police are still working on the final accident report.

A driver who ran into Bill's vehicle after the accident was charged with DWI.
