Survey could determine if new YMCA opens in Port Neches

SOUTHEAST TEXAS - YMCA of Southeast Texas and the City of Port Neches are in talks regarding the possibility of bringing a Y branch to the city. The former armory building, 511 Grigsby, next to new city hall, is the site being discussed for the possible location. Membership to the Port Neches Branch would also carry privileges to the Port Arthur Branch. At this time the Y is doing a feasibility study and would like to hear from the citizens in Port Neches and the mid-county area. A survey has been posted at: www.surveymonkey.com/s/YMCAPortNeches , to get your thoughts and opinions on the Y opening a Port Neches Branch. This survey will be open until January 31st and should take no more than 5 minutes to complete. The Y has been serving the south county area for over 110 years and has expanded its afterschool care programs to Orange and Chambers counties in the past two years.

"With a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all, we implement that through our area of focus, in Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, and look forward to the possibility of better serving the people in our service area.", reports Pete Hicks, President/CEO, YMCA of Southeast Texas.
