Southeast Texans remember icon of creative community

BEAUMONT - An icon in Beaumont's art and music community was remembered Thursday night.

Friends and family of Gytha Grissom gathered at the Log-on Cafe in Beaumont.

Grissom was the co-owner with her husband Ed of the Log-on, a fixture in the Beaumont music scene for fifteen years.

Grissom died last Friday.

She was fifty-five years old.

Many members of the creative community in Southeast Texas remember Grissom as a supporter of the arts and independent spirit here in Beaumont and beyond.

The Grissoms announced this summer that they were putting the Log-on cafe up for sale.
