Hispanics keep Catholic Christmas tradition alive

For many families, Christmas celebrations began Christmas eve and festivities continue today with greeting family and opening presents. But for some families, Christmas celebrations began more than a week ago.


The celebration is known as the Posadas. It's a Catholic tradition in Mexico.


Families and community members recreate the story of Mary and Joseph as they went throughout Bethlehem asking for shelter looking for a place suitable for baby Jesus' birth.


KFDM Reporter Leslie Rangel shows us a celebration where believers of all ages say holding onto their Mexican traditions is all part of their faith and culture.
