Employee hospitalized after loud bang at Signal International

ORANGE- by Ashley Gaston - Residents in Orange County heard something similar to an explosion this morning at about 9 am.

Jerry Ziller with the Orange Fire Department said it came from Signal International located at 905 Pier Rd. in Orange.

Zillar said an employee was using a lift bag filled with air to lift a barge away from the ground to perform maintenance on the barge.

Zillar said when the bag popped it sounded like an explosion.

Ziller said the force of the air from the lift bag threw one worker about 20 feet in the air.

Ziller said there wasn't anything hazardous inside the lift bag.
