An inside look at Black Friday

BEAUMONT - By Megan Dillard - Today is the biggest shopping day of the year. While many people are out and about right now, some shoppers started saving money with doorbuster deals at Best Buy's midnight opening. KFDM explored the hype and excitement shared by many Black Friday shoppers. Tents, blankets, groups of people camping out; waiting for midnight. Not what you'd normally see at Best Buy in Beaumont. Some snoozing; others tapping feet. From the first in line to the last and everyone in between. Shoppers are excited to get in those doors.
"40-inch TV man?" "Yeah, thanks."
Michael Alldredge has waited out here for more than 12 hours. The 21st person in line he's here for a TV.
"Just fun. It's tradition. Get out here with my friends and family and just relax." While groups are huddled outside, employees inside are getting pumped up. Manager Mike Werner says it's about creating an easy shopping experience. "Not a lot of grab and go. They can walk in. They have their bracelets, they have their papers. It makes it a lot easier for them to come into the store and grab the items that they've been waiting for two days for."
Days, hours, minutes. The countdown to this moment.
"Go Mark go!"
The first customer in, Alldredge is not too far behind. Little sister and friend in tow, the group works as a team.
A quick wait in the TV line and a speedy checkout. Time to load up.
"I feel pretty good. I feel like I accomplished what I needed to today."
An accomplishment, a tradition, Alldredge says he'll be back for next Black Friday.
"Mission accomplished!"
Managers with Best Buy say there were more than two hundred people in line.
The store is offering sales throughout the holiday season.
