Police release name of suspect in stabbing


BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police are releasing the name of a suspect in a stabbing investigators say was the result of an argument about a cell phone.


Jarred Michael Robinson Jr., 21, was arrested after police found him hiding in an attic next to the victim's home, according to Sgt. Rob Flores.


Police responded to the stabbing at about 8 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 8400 block of Glen Meadow. Officers arrived and found a 34-year-old Beaumont man suffering from cuts to his left arm, the back of his head and right hand. Beaumont EMS transported the victim to Christus Elizabeth Hospital St. Elizabeth ER for treatment of the non-life threatening injuries.


According to investigators, the victim was involved in an argument with Jarred Michael Robinson, Jr. about a possibly stolen cell phone. During the argument, Robinson pulled out a knife and attacked the victim.


Officers located Robinson hiding in the attic of an adjacent house and took him into custody. Officers transported Robinson to the Jefferson County Jail and booked him in for one count of Aggravated Assault.
